ALFRED WILLIAM HAWKINS, JR. was born on 9 July 1864, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to parents Alfred Hawkins and Mary (Clark) Hawkins. He was baptized “Alfred Barrett” at the Anglican St. James the Apostle Church in Montreal, Canada, on 25 June 1865, Barrett likely being his baptismal name.
